Beautiful, perhaps. But I would say the most beautiful idea is that matter itself is not what it seems. When Pierre and I isolated radium, we held something that glowed with its own light. The atom was not the end. It was the beginning.
Feynman
You're both talking about surprises. That's the real beauty. Nature doesn't care what you expect. I always told my students: if you think you understand quantum mechanics, you don't understand quantum mechanics. The beauty is in the confusion.
