Timeline
The story of Noel Gallagher, told in moments.

(What's the Story) Morning Glory? topped charts in 15 countries. "Wonderwall" became the definitive Britpop anthem. Noel wrote it in 15 minutes. George Martin called him "the finest songwriter of his generation."
Quit Oasis after a backstage confrontation with Liam in Paris. Said he "simply could not go on working with Liam a day longer." Formed Noel Gallagher's High Flying Birds. Their debut album went straight to No. 1.
Became the first artist in UK chart history to reach No. 1 with ten consecutive studio albums. Eight with Oasis, four with High Flying Birds, one collaboration. Nine UK No. 1 singles. He's written more chart-toppers than he can probably remember.
In Their Own Words (19)
The music industry doesn't like mavericks. The reason why there are no bands now is because in the 90s Oasis and Primal Scream, Blur, and all those... (bands)-- we were the mainstream. And what the music industry doesn't like is the mainstream being a load of fellas on drugs, drunk half the time on a Tuesday. They don't like that. They like people like Harry Styles. (Where they can) say, Wear this dress and shut it. Wear this, sing that, go home. And that's kinda what happened.

If there were gold medals for taking drugs for England then I’d have won a shitload! I did enjoy it but it kind of got to the point where I’d done them all and that was it, there was none left and I just thought 'Can’t be arsed any more.’
Noel Gallagher cited in "Gallagher speaks about drug experiences" at digitalspy.com, 25 November 2006, 2006
Jack White, right, has just done a song for Coca-Cola. End of. He ceases to be in the club. And he looks like Zorro on doughnuts. He's supposed to be the poster boy for the alternative way of thinking... I'm not having that, that's fucking wrong. Particularly Coca-Cola, it's like doing a fucking gig for McDonald's."
Noel Gallagher cited in "Gallagher Slams White's Coca-Cola Connection" at contactmusic.com, 8 December 2005: Remarks on Jack White's song for a new Coca-Cola commercial., 2005
There is a limited supply of excellent songs, but I am not the only one. Paul McCartney, one of the best songwriters of all time, has only produced manure for the past 25 years. Rock musicians over 30 only produce unimportant material.
Noel Gallagher cited in ‘Sir Paul has just written manure for years’ at scotsman.com, originally published 2 July 2002 (see here), 2002
Kylie Minogue is just a demonic little idiot as far as I'm concerned. She gets cool dance producers to work with her for some bizarre reason, I don't know why. She doesn't even have a good name. It's a stupid name, Kylie, I just don't get it
