Timeline

The story of Lindsey Buckingham, told in moments.

1975 Event

Joins Fleetwood Mac alongside Stevie Nicks. Mick Fleetwood had called to recruit Nicks. Buckingham said they were a package deal. The band had been a British blues act. He turned them into a pop phenomenon.

1977 Event

Rumours is released. Buckingham and Nicks have broken up. John and Christine McVie have broken up. Everyone is writing songs about everyone else. The album sells over 40 million copies. Pain, it turns out, is commercially viable.

1979 Life

Pushes the band into the experimental double album Tusk, recording parts in an empty parking garage and hiring the USC marching band. It costs $1 million to make. The label panics. It still sells four million copies, but everyone calls it a disappointment.

2018 Life

Fired from Fleetwood Mac by the other members. Nicks reportedly gave the band an ultimatum. He sues. They settle out of court. He goes on tour solo. Still plays every guitar part like he's trying to prove something.
