Koji Suzuki is a Japanese writer, who was born in Hamamatsu and lives in Tokyo. Suzuki is the author of the Ring novels, which have been adapted into other formats, including films, manga, TV series, and video games. He has written several books on the subject of fatherhood. Published Ring. A cursed videotape that kills anyone who watches it within seven days. Combined Japanese ghost story traditions with modern technology. Won the Yokomizo Seishi Mystery Grand Prize.

1998 Event

The film adaptation of Ring, directed by Hideo Nakata, became the highest-grossing horror film in Japanese history. It launched the J-horror wave that swept Hollywood. The American remake followed in 2002.

2012 Life

Published S, the final volume of his Ring cycle. Four novels, multiple films, a TV series, manga adaptations. Sadako crawling out of the television became one of the defining horror images of the late 20th century.
