Timeline
The story of Hassan Nasrallah, told in moments.
Became secretary-general of Hezbollah at 31 after Israel assassinated his predecessor Abbas al-Musawi. The youngest leader the organization had ever had. He would hold the position for 32 years.
His eldest son Hadi was killed fighting Israeli forces in southern Lebanon at age 18. Nasrallah refused special treatment for the body. "He is just like any other martyr's son." The loss hardened his public persona.
Israel withdrew from southern Lebanon after 18 years of occupation. Nasrallah claimed the withdrawal as Hezbollah's victory. It was the first time an Arab force had pushed Israel off occupied territory without a peace deal.
Killed in an Israeli airstrike on Hezbollah's underground headquarters in Beirut. The strike used bunker-busting bombs on a residential area. He was 64. His death was confirmed a day later.

We are entitled to take pride in them. We must remain firm with certainty that they are rewarded in paradise... Those fallen martyrs are alive in God’s paradise.
"Hamas's attack on Israel was a 'glorious jihadi operation', says Hezbollah leader - follow latest", The Telegraph (London, 3 November 2023), 2023
This glorious, blessed large scale operation was one hundred per cent Palestinian in terms of decision and execution [...] The Palestinians had kept it secret.

The elimination of Israel is not only a Palestinian interest. It is the interest of the entire Muslim world and the entire Arab world.

"It is unacceptable, it is forbidden, to harm the innocent [...] To have Iraqis confronting the occupation army, this is natural. But if there are American tourists, or intellectuals, doctors, or professors who have nothing to do with this war, they are innocent, even though they are Americans, and it is forbidden. It is not acceptable to harm them."

Today, the Israelis tightened the noose on the mass media in northern occupied Palestine and occupied Palestine. No one can report any news or broadcast any footage. [News reports] are subject to the Israeli censorship which permits and disseminates them. Even you at Al-Jazeera Channel were subjected to arrests, interrogation, restricted activities, and the like. Why do the Israelis resort to concealing the truth on the other side? Why? Do they do that only because they accuse the media outlets of setting the coordinates? This is nonsense. We have the coordinates of these Israeli settlements and military positions in the north, centre, or in any part of occupied Palestine. We do not need anybody to give us information, images, or the like. In that case, they want to conceal the true scene of the war on the other side because it will have definite impact on the Israeli street and media and the morale of the Israelis.
