Chad Robert Kroeger is a Canadian musician who is best known for being the lead singer, lead guitarist, primary songwriter, and founding member of the rock band Nickelback. In addition to his work with Nickelback, Kroeger has been involved with a variety of collaborations, appearing as a guest musician in several songs and has contributed in both production and songwriting. He has co-written several songs for other artists and films.

Born Chad Robert Turton in Hanna, Alberta. His father left when he was two. He took his mother's maiden name, Kroeger. Learned guitar at 13.
Formed Nickelback with his half-brother Mike and friends Ryan Peake and Brandon Kroeger. Named for the nickel in change Kroeger's brother used to give back at his coffee shop job.
"How You Remind Me" hit No. 1 and became the most-played song on US radio that year. The album Silver Side Up went 6x platinum.
Co-founded 604 Records in Vancouver. Also co-wrote and performed "Hero" for the Spider-Man soundtrack with Josey Scott.
