1966 Event

Simon & Garfunkel released "The Sound of Silence," which hit number one after a producer overdubbed electric guitars without telling them. The duo had already broken up. They got back together.

1970 Event

Bridge over Troubled Water became the best-selling album of the year and won six Grammys. Simon & Garfunkel split for good shortly after. Garfunkel turned to acting.

1981 Event

Reunited with Simon for a free concert in Central Park. Half a million people showed up. A planned reunion album collapsed because they couldn't get along.
