Anthony Kiedis is an American musician who is the lead vocalist of the rock band Red Hot Chili Peppers. Kiedis and his fellow band members were inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2012.

Formed the Red Hot Chili Peppers with Flea, Hillel Slovak, and Jack Irons. Their original name was Tony Flow and the Miraculously Majestic Masters of Mayhem.

1991 Event

Blood Sugar Sex Magik sold 13 million copies worldwide. "Under the Bridge," written about his loneliness and heroin use, became their biggest hit. The band had nearly broken up twice before recording it.

2012 Event

Inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame with the Red Hot Chili Peppers. By then he'd been sober, relapsed, and recovered publicly multiple times. His memoir Scar Tissue sold over a million copies.
